‘Haunt’ gets to Seattle Asian American Film Festival

The 2020 Seattle Asian American Film Festival (SAAFF) has picked a short film from Iran titled ‘Haunt’.

Iranian filmmaker Siamak Kashef-Azar’s short film will be vying at the SAAFF, which will be held from November 1 to November 22, 2020.

‘Haunt’, made in 2019, is a 17-min short film about a gambling addict named Reza. Without even knowing it, Reza loses something important during a game. When he comes back home, he looks for a way to escape.

Featuring Hamidreza Azarang and Bahar Mohammadpour, ‘Haunt’ made its debut screening at the 15th River's Edge Int’l Film Festival (reiff) in the US.

Kashef-Azar’s film was also named the winner of the Best Budget Short Film Award at the August edition of the 2020 monthly Assurdo Film Festival in Italy.

In November 1-14, 2020, the short flick will also participate in the 2020 edition of the Asian Film Festival, Los Angeles Hollywood in the US.

The Seattle Asian American Film Festival (SAAFF) showcases feature-length and short format films by and about Asian Americans across North America, with an emphasis on filmmakers from the Pacific Northwest.

The SAAFF is the only film festival in Seattle to provide a space for Asian American voices, perspectives and histories by screening independent films that reflect the diversity and richness of the city’s Asian American community.
